CAMERON TANNER

I am a Printmaker, Designer and illustrator living in the Dallas, Texas area. I specialize in the printmaking processes of Screen printing, Relief printing, and Monotype. I also practice digital drawing and painting, which is how a lot of my Illustration work is made. As well as, working with creating long and short-form video content, experimenting with new ways to edit and tell stories through multiple different platforms and mediums - this includes YouTube videos, shorts, TikTok videos and Instagram Reels

 

My work is heavily inspired by movies, anime, comic books, western animation and other various forms of pop culture. I use very stylized elements that call back to these inspirations throughout each piece I create. Character Design, specifically, is something I am very passionate about and practice often, typically utilizing characters within my work to advance the narrative contained in the imagery.

The imagery I create focuses on childhood nostalgia and the idea of "play" and the freedom we experienced as children. I do this by recreating my favorite personal childhood memories, places of significance, and characters that help push that connection to the viewer. It is important for my work to be interacted with, for example using crayons and coloring pages for the audience to engage with the artwork in a tactile sense. This helps jump start those feelings while breaking down the barriers of how art is expected to be engaged with.

My aspiration is to one day break into the Animation industry and bring my art to life.
